The Tynor Round Ring Cushion Seat (I72) is an anatomically designed orthopaedic seat cushion made from high-density PU foam, with a distinctive donut shape and central cut-out designed to take pressure off the coccyx (tailbone) and perianal area during prolonged sitting. It is designed to help distribute body weight evenly across the seat and support a healthy sitting posture at work, at home, in the car or in a wheelchair. Lightweight and portable, it comes with a plush, removable and washable cover and an anti-slip base for stability on most seating surfaces. Supplied by Australian Healthcare Supplies, a registered NDIS provider based in Perth, Western Australia.

Features

  • Scientifically designed donut shape with a hollow centre, designed so the tailbone and anal area stay clear of the seat surface
  • High-density PU foam designed to provide firm support and comfortable cushioning while retaining shape and firmness over extended use
  • Anatomical design that conforms to the natural body shape and is designed to help support a healthy sitting posture
  • Designed to distribute body weight evenly across the seat, helping to take pressure off the tailbone
  • Plush, removable and washable cover with anti-skid microdots for a non-slip base
  • Lightweight and portable with a carry loop, and a universal size to suit most chairs, car seats and wheelchairs
Intended Use

May assist in managing discomfort associated with the following conditions:

  • Coccyx (tailbone) pain and coccydynia
  • Haemorrhoids and perianal discomfort during sitting
  • Post-operative recovery following coccyx, perianal or lower spinal surgery — as directed by a healthcare professional
  • Pilonidal sinus discomfort and post-surgical recovery
  • Pressure discomfort from prolonged sitting on hard surfaces at the office, while travelling or driving
  • Postural fatigue and lower back discomfort associated with long sitting hours
How to Use
  • Place the cushion on your chair, car seat or wheelchair with the anti-slip base facing down.
  • Sit so that the tailbone (coccyx) and anal area are positioned over the central cut-out, not in contact with the foam.
  • Adjust your position until your weight is distributed across the ring with the tailbone area free of pressure.
  • Use on any chair, car seat or wheelchair as needed throughout the day.

Common Questions

What is the Tynor Round Ring Cushion Seat used for?
The I72 is designed to help take pressure off the coccyx (tailbone) and perianal area during prolonged sitting. It is commonly used for tailbone discomfort, haemorrhoids, post-surgical recovery and long hours of sitting at work, in the car or in a wheelchair.

How does the round ring design help?
The central cut-out is positioned so the coccyx and anal area stay suspended rather than pressing against the seat surface, which is designed to help offload the tailbone while sitting.

Can it be used on a wheelchair?
Yes — it is designed for office chairs, car seats, wheelchairs and most standard seating. NDIS participants using wheelchairs should speak with their occupational therapist to confirm suitability for their seating and postural needs.

Can I use NDIS funding for this product?
Australian Healthcare Supplies is a registered NDIS provider. Suitability is subject to your NDIS plan and approval — contact us to confirm eligibility.
